Gamirasu Cave Hotel

During my years of travel I have stayed at some of the world’s finest hotels, from the historic opulence of Italy’s Villa de Este to the understated elegance of The Four Season’s Istanbul at Sultanahmet.

I have also had the opportunity to stay at some of the most charming and, dare I say, enchanting boutique hotels and let me just say… I love boutique hotels! What makes a hotel “boutique” you ask? Usually under 50 rooms and occupying a historical building located smack dab in the middle of anywhere Old Town. A boutique hotel feels so much like history that it actually becomes part of your travel experience. It is both quaint and quiet which translates into a warm welcoming attitude and impeccable service.

Needless to say, I was thrilled to be staying at the Gamirasu Cave Hotel in Cappadocia on my recent trip to Turkey. Housed in an exquisitely restored centuries old Byzantine monastic retreat the Gamirasu Cave Hotel is pure magic – allowing you to step back in time while still enjoying those modern amenities we have all come to expect.  Have a look – you’ll be glad you did.
